Loud call is one of the most beatufil and striking vocalizations produced by the moor macaque. This vocalization is only produced by males, and usually only high-rank males show it. Macaca Maura Project is studying more about this vocalization and its cognitive and ecological features.
We want to share with you a video recorded with one of our camera-traps in a forest in South Sulawesi: An adult moor macaque producing an amazing loud call in front of the camera.
